It’s been over than three years since the initial release of the Nintendo Switch. Around then, the console had seen a ton of achievement, selling huge number of units around the world, easily one of the largest, the biggest, and most well known consoles Nintendo had ever created. However, in March 2020, the Nintendo Switch managed to print their history and is likely to continue.
Nintendo Switch was initially launched in March 2017 and has become one of the most popular Nintendo consoles ever, selling a huge number of units for three years. In fact, in March 2020, the Switch actually defeated the Nintendo Wii as the best-selling Nintendo console in Japan.
Over the past few months, Nintendo Switch sales have experienced tremendous growth, largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic which made some people have to stay at home and choose Nintendo Switch as a way to make use of free time.
However, it was recently announced how many systems were sold during this time period. Overall sales for March totaled 4.2 million impressive units. This figure is twenty percent of Nintendo’s annual sales of consoles. It is not surprising at this point why there were temporary deficiencies in the Switch console during the COVID-19 pandemic period.
