Two Chinese tech giants Xiaomi and Mediatek are reportedly collaborating to develop chipsets specifically for their smartphones. This collaboration is said to produce a special chipset not like the G series or P series which have been used by many vendors.
According to information from Gizchina, Xiaomi has been searching for a special chip-maker for some time. The result was that Mediatek was called and agree to do the request from Xiaomi. As we know, if Xiaomi is one of the most popular smartphone vendors in the world. Mediatek is also a chipset maker from China which is no less popular than Qualcomm.
At present, cooperation between the two companies also looks even tighter, this can be seen from the many Xiaomi products that use chipsets made by Mediatek, such as Redmi Note 8 pro, Redmi Note 9 and Redmi 10X.
Recently it is becoming a trend for smartphone vendors to switch to using their own chipsets. As Oppo is said to be developing their own chipset and Apple is gradually switching from Intel to its own custom chip for Mac products.
However, there is currently no official information from the two companies either Mediatek or Xiaomi related to this collaboration. By doing so, we must wait for further information related to this problem.
