Mediatek has officially released a new 5G chipset, Mediatek Dimensity 720G. This chipset is a 5G chipset created by Mediatek for middle-class smartphones.
As a chipset for middle-class smartphones, Mediatek Dimensity 720G will line up with the 800 series that have been released earlier as a middle-class 5G chipset. This chipset is a 5G chipset built on the 7nm process by TSMC, and has quite a lot of connectivity including SA / NSA 5G and more.
For specifications, Dimensity 720 has two ARM Cortex A-76 cores and six A-55 cores all clocked at 2GHz. Although its inversely proportional to the Kryo 465 that found on the Snapdragon 720G.
MediaTek said that when the SoC was paired with an ARM Mali-G57 GPU, DDR4x RAM up to 2133MHz and newer UFS 2.2 storage, this chip would provide better overall performance.
In addition, Dimensity 720G has supported HDR10 + content on screens with MiraVision technology. For resolution, 720G Dimension has supported a maximum resolution of 2520 × 1080 pixels, this allows vendors to increase refresh rates up to 90Hz.
On the camera side, this chipset supports up to a single 64MP sensor or dual 20 & 16MP sensors. The camera can record 4K, HDR-ISP, Multi-Frame NR, 3D Noise Reduction and many more features supported by APU itself.
As a 5G chipset, of course 720G DIMensity supports connectivity, NSA / SA 5G which supports sub-6GHz global standards that are optimal for Asia, North America, and Europe. It also has 4G Dual SIM, Dual standby (DSDS), two Aggregation operators (2CC CA), Voice over New Radio (VoNR) supports better connectivity.
Mediatek also said that the 5G modem at Dimensity 720 is saves power. This SoC has 5G UltraSave Technology to monitor modem operation and extend the device’s battery life.
